product care
All our products are of the finest quality and have been manufactured and designed to give long-lasting satisfaction.
QUILTS/BEDSPREADS
Our quilts have been carefully hand-crafted using traditional methods and therefore require special attention to ensure their qualities give long-lasting satisfaction.
-
Made of 100% cotton or linen these quilts can be machine washed on a delicate cycle in lukewarm water. We suggest you use a professional dry cleaning company and ask for the item to be wet washed and line dried.
-
Avoid spot cleaning or soaking as this may cause the fabric to bleed.
-
Do not bleach, dry clean or tumble dry.
-
Hang to dry promptly after washing.
-
Gently pull quilt into shape while still damp to lessen shrinkage of 5-7%.
-
Avoid direct sunlight.
-
Natural dyes have been used in the dying and printing of these fabrics so there may be some fading over time. However, this adds to the heirloom quality of the quilt.
CRELLINI LINEN
Linen is the strongest of all natural fibres and is easy to maintain if cared for properly. It has a natural beauty and washes well, becoming softer and more luminous with age. It will provide many years of enjoyment and is often passed down through generations as a much loved and beautiful heirloom.

HAND TOWELS
Before using your hand towels soak them in cold water for 24 hours. The natural fibres swell and this will make them extremely absorbent. They can then be washed on a warm machine cycle with a small amount of detergent.
BED LINEN
Washing bed linen
Our bed linen is of the finest quality and provided you follow these guidelines it should continue looking good for many years to come.
Bed linens should be laundered each week to avoid discoloration, especially those which are white. Darks and whites should always be washed separately at 40 degrees. Boiling white linens is not recommended as modern detergents are designed to clean at low temperatures. Bleaching agents and enzymes can damage the fabric. Detergents or powders should not come in direct contact with fabric. If washing by hand ensure that detergents are completely dissolved before immersing in water.
Drying
We do not recommend drying your sheets in a tumble drier. The best results are achieved by hanging on a clothes line outdoors, and folding the sheets as you take them off the line to reduce creasing.
Ironing
To make ironing easier, correct washing and drying will reduce creasing. Over time the natural fibres soften and the creasing will lessen. Using a steam iron while still damp will give best results. If linen becomes too dry, spray with a water spray. Our Italian bed linen is scented and adds to the feeling of luxury.
Folding sheets and duvet covers in half lengthways when ironing will make handling easier.
We suggest that when ironing pillowcases, iron from the outside in to avoid creasing in the corners. Ironing on the reverse side is recommended for any embroidered or enhanced product to preserve and protect it.
